Securing Pilot Point’s Water Future

Securing Pilot Point’s Water Future

Chad has taken decisive action to protect our community’s water supply from being depleted by private wells, ensuring long-term sustainability for residents. He played a key role in approving critical infrastructure projects, including a new 1-million-gallon water tower, a state-of-the-art water treatment plant, a comprehensive water pipe upgrade program, and a hydrogeologic study to safeguard and expand our water resources. As mayor, Chad will continue leading the fight to secure a reliable water supply, ensuring Pilot Point’s growth and prosperity for generations to come.

A Proven Champion for First Responders

Chad has been a steadfast advocate for our firefighters and police officers, ensuring they have the resources they need to protect our community. As a city councilman, he fought to bring their pay to market rates and keep their pay competitive, helping Pilot Point attract and retain top-tier first responders as the city grows. He also approved the development of Fire Station #3 to support new neighborhoods and expanding infrastructure. As mayor, Chad will continue to prioritize public safety, ensuring our first responders have the tools, training, and support they need to keep Pilot Point safe.

Strengthening Our Community and Revitalizing Downtown

Chad has been instrumental in shaping the future of Pilot Point, working to enhance both its charm and livability. As a city councilman, he has worked with the city to find ways to incentivize the revitalization of Pilot Point’s Historic Downtown, preserving its character while promoting economic growth. This includes purchase of a downtown building and encouraging new business to come to Pilot Point and grow within that building.

He adopted the Historic Review Standards Policy which services as a guiding document to ensure that changes, restorations or developments involving historic properties or districts maintain their historical integrity and align with preservation goals.

He also played a role in reinstating the HOME grant, expanding access to affordable housing for local families.

Additionally, he supported the approval of new festivals on the square, bringing the community together and boosting local businesses. As mayor, Chad will continue to champion smart growth, historic preservation, and community-driven initiatives that make Pilot Point a great place to live, work, and gather.

Champion Government Accountability

Chad was instrumental in getting the City Charter review planned and budgeted so that it could be reviewed by a team of citizens for proposed updates.  Reviewing the City Charter ensures that proposed amendments align with legal requirements and community needs.  This review is critical before propositions are placed on the ballot, ensuring clarity, legality and relevance to city governance.

Chad adopted “Rules of Procedure (Governance) Policy as per the City Charter to ensure that the governing body operates within the legal framework established by the Charter.  It was created to provide a clear, publicly accessible set of rules to build trust, create more transparency, clarity and remove any mystery as to how the council operates.

Chad began a strategic review and update of the City’s Comprehensive Plan.  This process was undertaken by Pilot Point to update it’s long-term planning documents to reflect current needs, goals and community aspirations.  This plan includes citizen’s input to ensure the plan reflects the community’s desires and fosters public trust.
